My Review on Tikona Internet Broadband services


My personal review on Tikona Internet Broadband services - 1 *****

Importance of internet connectivity to my job/work/ Life           
I am staying in Mumbai and many a times on Internet every day even on Sundays, I would say out of 24 hours I am connected with internet almost 18 hours a day since working with different timezones.  Previously before shifting to a new house i use to have cable network from PaceNet - which I would say not a big brand as tikona is today but the services in terms of the costing, Internet plans, speed they used to provide was awesome.

My previous local Cable internet was better:
I used PaceNet services from past 3 years and hardly had issue less than 5 times in those 3 years. After I shifted to another place in Mumbai - I wanted to have the same kind of connectivity - which can work continuously with less hassles to connect, no matter if the speed is less some times.

My Preferable Speed
Normally my preferable speed is 2 MBPS since at a time I open more than 15 applications. So i did a call to local directories for internet connectivity.  Further moving on my reference was forwarded to the internet broadband services companies and i was completely amaze that I got 16 calls in a day approaching for internet broadband connectivity – and to my surprises every call was from Tikona Internet Broadband services.

1st Impression is powerful :
I felt that it has a good customer support and brand which can ful fill my internet needs. I ordered a new connection where the vendor provided me with some discount because it was new internet connection.

Low speed than Actual -  Tikona broadband :
The speed which is subscribe to was 2 Mbps - uptill 8 GB of download and further it will be 512 Kbps - it was an unlimited plan. But the internet speed was lower than actual.

Low knowledge and lot of time wasted in the initial connection
The technical person camed and he started the connection at my House - Wasting 2 hours of my precious time for connectivity

Again 1st impression is powerful after the connection
Then he opened a YouTube video which works perfectly fine till he was there - but then within 2 days the time to buffer was 30 seconds - note I am in my 2nd day and have not used much of internet since I was having internet dongle also as a backup.

Unnecessary adaptors and electric points required
Further the connectivity require 2 adaptors to be plucked which just ruin the electricity and the connection points of my house

The Mac id is not common but I  can use only 2 computers under my plan

Converted from Cable tikona internet to Wifi
Also I moved from a cable tikona internet connection to a wireless – They have their own wifi – where you can only use tikona only – so my review is never buy a tikona wifi from them – buy it from a hardware store you will find cheap and further you can move to other internet connection. They also asked for 500 Rs extra but I installed the wifi from a local person.

Worst Customer Care Support :
Another problem with tikona was the Customer Care Support – They have their toll free number but see this heirarcy of call –
-          First when you call to tikona internet broadband services –
-          it will take at an average 4 minutes to have your call picked by their executives –
-          May be they flooded with lots of problematic call everyday or maybe they don’t have a good number of people on their customer desk for support.

Never Ask for a call back from tikona customer care:
If you don’t want to keep waiting on the line you can expect a call back which will normally take around 12 hours. Also sometimes the callback will be only once.
Often when I used to get call back from tikona customer support it normally got disconnected in 7 seconds – don’t know everytime my mobile network faced problem when tikona customer support is calling.

You pay extra if you are using tikona in mobile devices
After too many calls my internet got worked hopefully but then I started using Samsung Galaxy tab at my home since travelling in Mumbai in locals with your laptop is too risky – but there was problem started to load the login page of tikona services – when I called them they said that you have to registered for a WAP after paying 1500 Rs. – I still need a clarification on this if this is true – I will change the subscriber.

Final Review
Don’t go for Tikona if you don’t have patience like me – Either I would suggest you go purchase a TATA photon dongle or others which will be cheaper on per year basis with a great speed.
I would give 1 Star since the base of internet connectivity was proper but low. This is my personal review may be some might be enjoying tikona internet services better – but what I faced I tend to cover.

Incase of internet connection in Mira road - please reply via this post - I am using cable net instead of tikona and found way much better than tikona - With 512 kbps speed it is quite sufficient to watch Youtube videos without buffering (my own challenge)

  2. I took tikona on 2nd october,the technician made me pay upront and like a fool I took quarter package to save on installation. Then they could not set up a working connection and were rude and left on pretext that password comes next day ( they had activated internet so I could make a credit card transaction of 3300). It is a week now and inspite of calling customer care every day, where they try to trouble shoot and get the connection running promise to send a technician in 24 hrs which never happens. Today I asked for cancellation n refund of my advance payment and am told someone will call back in 48 hours to take this request! If anyone knows how I can get refund back please help. And don't ever take TIKONA

  3. Tikona and any other broadband in general differs from area to area..I would suggest ppl to find which ISP has good service in their area and use that..

  5. I went for Tikona BB so called pre-paid connection more than a year back. I went for 3500 Rs. 6 months unlimited connection with advance payment. I was attracted by low price. I really made a major mistake of my life. It worked well for a month. After that it was almost dead. Customer care did not help. I asked for refund. No one listened in the customer care. After expiry of 6 months they asked for renewal of 6 months further by paying another 3500 Rs. I refused to renew and asked to refund 5 months money and disconnect. They took their equipments back. After that they kept sending me bills. I contacted customer care but it seems they are all trained for a organized extortion syndicate. Then was the nightmare. I got some criminally motivated calls for extortion. I have no way to prove these calls were from Tikona officially. But it is understood. Although I noted down all the numbers of these nasty calls. Later they kept on sending the bills by courier also to my home and email id. This is a well thought mental torture strategy. They will keep building the bill amount to mount even greater mental pressure. Now they say the amount have gone above Rs. 10000/-. I am sure some of the customer are getting into this trap. In between they hire some criminals to call you to settle the ever building amount with time. I can only say, please B E W A R E. Don’’t get into the low price trap. It is a hell out there.......

    1. My request to every user is to first check over the internet then with their friends in area who are using similar internet services and then try it for 1 month

    THEY ARE FRAUD. JUST WRITE "tikona fraud" in google, AND YOU GET THE RESULT.

    This company must get banned and remove from the market.

  7. To begin with, I'd like to state that I only use tikona's Wifi broadband. I noticed other reviews were criticizing other aspects of tikona's service: I can't comment on that.

    For me, the service has been smooth right from the outset. The installation was done on time and the service worked perfectly right from the start.

    I've had incredible speeds and this has been true whether in peak time or otherwise. The connection has also been very reliable... in fact, during the past 4 months that I have used the service the connection has not dropped even once.

    Maybe I got a bit lucky judging by the other reviews here. From my own experience, however, I would definitely recommend tikona wifi to my friends!

      I truly understand that many people are criticizing on Tikona

      The service is good enough for normal user but unfortunately i am not a normal internet user - My whole work is dependent on Internet and I may loose more than 30$ per hour if Internet connectivity is bad.

      As far as tikona is concern they have bad rules -

      let me give you my example

      i used to have a services from pacenet when i was staying in town side (Mumbai)

      The plan I was having was 2 GB limited at a speed of 2 mbps. and after that unlimited at a speed of 256 kbps - with pacenet i use to complete my 2 gb in 20 days time - although 256 kbps was good enough in speed excluding skype calls or youtube videos.

      here with tikona - I am in a plan of 10 GB at speed of 2 mbps -

      the speed I don't think its 2 mbps although I checked with speed test
      further my 10 GB get over in 10 days time - How that could be ????
      further after 10 gb consumption they provide a speed of 512 kbps - You will not believe a video of 2 minutes on youtube take more than 7 minutes or 6 minutes to watch.

      i think you should try another provider and see the difference in tikona.

  8. I am a subscriber of Tikona Internet Services for a year now. In the last year, on a regular basis I have had to request technical support every 15-30 days.

    The connection is now inactive for more than a month. I have been trying to connect with technical support, have written emails. But no help. There is just no response from Tikona.

    Dont ever consider Tikona as your internet service provider. Rahul Kumar

    1. first of all - I would like to banned those IVR and automated messages - they just make you frustrated,

      Company feels they are better supporting - Sometime it took more than 20 minutes to get connected with tikona technical guy - that IVR message just bark to press buttons -

      if you have problems 3 times in a month and you are spending 100 Rs just to reach to tikona guys then you can understand how much extra and hardwork you are doing :)

  9. I had tikona connection previously ... and frustated by there services i planned to deactivate the conection.... going fr pacenet

    but for deactivating the connection they have very complex conditions..
    finally in a month they mailed me my full and final amount and i paid it and returned there equipment..

    but now some of legal advisor from tikona calling me to pay due amount...

  13. BAD SERVICE , LAZY C CARE , BLACKMAILING AND CHEATING ; hi friends Tikona people are very cunning and they starts blackmailing u after disconnection . this is true with my self and one of my friend .
    i disconnected for bad service .they sent me 3 months bill after disconnection and asked me to pay . i called customer care. they were careless in attitude. next day i dot call from delhi laywer and they told i have legal for not paying bill . and i have to attend the court. she blackmailed me to pay the bill in an hour or she will book a case . such a cheap trick . she instructed me how to pay through net bank . I felt she is some technical person not a laywer. SUCH A CHEAP TRICK TO COLLECT THE MONEY i hope they must have done thisi with many people so frinds i warn u to disconnect TIKONA get a confirmation from lazy tikona and shift to good internet providers ....there are so many IP ....ACT is superb ........

  14. Even After Termination of Tikona Service and having full and final settlement mail from tikona that there are no outstanding bill amount against you. I am getting auto generated bill amount every month. And also i got legal notice calls for settlement.

    This is worst service you can experience once you opt for Tikona.

  15. The Worst technology is used in Tikona. They Say, If you have Tikona Internet Plan with you & you are out of home, nearby some Hotel / Mall / Movie Theater / Under any Building which is having Tikona Internet Tower. You Can use your User-id & Password & use your Internet Plan. This is a good thing but, Do they Encrypt your password & send you VIA mail. The Person who visited from Tikona Gives you the password handy which is a threat to you, if the person leaves the organization and does some thing or misuses the internet on your name Cyber Crime people will make your life miserable Direct 7 Years of Jail + Lakh Fine.

    Its your password you should be able to create it your self or they should Encrypt the password, What will happen if some Guest Friend or Relative who whats to use internet and you are not at home you will innocently give your password, by-mistake your password is leaked. What will happen then.

    Please think before you User this kind of service.

  16. I had long and very bad experience with Tikona Digital Networks Pvt. Ltd., and writing all that experience will take many pages. I decided to write online just with the reason that persons must better understand Tikona services, before even deciding to subscribe to Tikona. AND TO PROVE THAT TIKONA IS WORST THAN WHAT YOU CAN EVEN THINK OF, I SUGGEST YOU TO CONTACT ANY GENUINE PAST USER’S OF TIKONA, I AM SURE THAT NOT EVEN ONE PAST USER OF TIKONA WILL SUGGEST YOU TO SUBSCRIBE TO TIKONA. I have learnt about Tikona services in the period of my subscription with Tikona and I can confidently say that they are the worst in India.

  17. Addition - OK my friends - I have disconnected from Tikona services - I told them i will continue after 3 months so the answer they said is
    Keep your account in Safe vault - where after 3 months you can continue with the services

    For keeping in safe vault - the charges is 3 Rs per day - "why the hell should I pay when I am not using the services "

    So I told them to disconnect permanently as i don't think to continue with these cheaters.

    dey jst dont give u speed at all 100 times a day there is loss of internet connection..
    when u complain no actions are taken at all i have experienced it so i am suggesting no one to take this service

Tikona wibro... believe me its not your bro... they are scammers. they gave me false information that ur connection is prepaid so in future do not pay if you dont want to use it. i hardly uses their connection speed was decent but connection reliability is very bad when i asked their so called "engineers" they told me their is a tree betwwen ur home and ur connection so we cant do anythig regarding this (so according to them if i want good speed and reliable connection i should have trim down the tree or removed it form earth WOW ).
    so i decided to no using their connection.. and after that REAL SHITSTORM was started..

    I took 3 months subscription from whis i have used onle one month and opted for another IPS service provider . after 3 months they started to SMS me for non payment flooded my inbox with their shitty non payment messeges then call morning evening night they will call you and they DEMAND you to pay for services u havent use.
    After some time i got call from some JATT accented person he told me to pay the bill.
    then i got emails regarding returning of moden "WTF" they didnt gave me any modem in first place.(If somebody need i will forward that mesg to you). Threatening call and emal are already started and "they have more than 60 days of disconnection process" so if you are planning to another city plan ahead LOL.(if you dont believe me i ll send you the actual recorded conversation between me and their call center representative ). SO GUYSS AND GURLS GO FOR ANYTHING BUT NOT TIKONA.. even MTNL IS 100000 times better than this SHITKONA....

  29. This is very unfortunate from my part. I am completely dissatisfied with Tikona services.

    I have taken a new connection with Tikona recently (ID 1110676582),At the time of installation on 19th July, The Area Manager Mr. Abhilash have informed that my billing cycle will be 26th of every month. I have been informed that , I have to make the payment for 3 months in one shot, So I agreed for the installation on 19th July and made the payment instantly via on line.

    Mr. Abhilash have confirmed that my next billing date will be 26th August. But surprisingly my bill got generated on 15th august. Where as I have used only 6150 MBS from 19th July till 14th August. Remaining usage of around 14GB gone wasted in the first month. Even if I ignore Mr.Abhilash words ,How my Billing date can be 15th of every month, If my installation date was 19th July (Which have wasted my 5 Days in first Month as well) . In such a case I would have delayed my installation to next billing Date i.e. 26th July.

    I never got any intimation regarding my billing date as 15th of every month.

    I have spoken to Mr. Abhilash (Area Manager) and Tikona Customer Care regarding this issue many times , Even i have sent mails to them to resolve my issue.But I got no answer from them till now.

    Its really hopeless service.

  33. tikona internet WORST! WORST!! WORST!!! I had Tikona broadband at my previous place in Pune around 2 years back.It had very bad experience with them & changed my inetrnet service provider which was satisfactory.After 2 years, I moved to other place in Pune where I had no other choice than tikona and believe me even after 2 years tikona has not even slightly improved their services they are still bad rather worst.I still get speed issue daily and daily I keep calling their customer service center and every time they ask me to wait for 24 hours and it goes on...... but till date the issue has not been resolved.The speed is not at all constant not for an hour.It keeps fluctuating with wide range of difference ( as low as 44 Kbps and even less than that).I have never received the speed promised by tikona.It is both mental and economical torture.You will never get value for money with tikona so my suggestion is NEVER EVER OPT FOR TIKONA SERVICES.

Just to give review for Tikona I have created many accounts on various internet blogs today as I am so much frustrated and fed up with this tikona that I have to pass my review to all internet user..Guys please beware of Tikona. You will regret your decision if you choose tikona for internet service. I have subscribed their service on 1st Dec2014, and believe me guys EACH AND EVERYDAY, EACH AND EVERYDAY I needed to call tikona for SOOOOOO MANY ISSUES like SLOW SPEED, INTERMITTENT DISCONNECTION AND NO CONNECTION AT ALL..They have never resolved even a single issue..As they charge 2months payment in advance, I got stuck as I need to move out from gurgaon soon, I cannot get a new service providers..I have done so many complaints (total ~25 complaints ID in 45 days) to tikona and I have each and every complaint id with me..Even I was planning to go to consumer court, but again as I need to move out from Gurgaon, I cannot go into consumer court hassle as of now..I have waste so much time with Tikona on the phone and so much frustration everyday I faced..You can call me or email me anytime if you need any more information for Tikona bad experience..So once again guys, never ever go for tikona else you will definitely regret...

  35. Guys status is still same, They charge more and service is worst. You will have to call customer care everyday for net connection (minimum 5 min). Their standard answer is some workstation problem occurred need 24 hours to fix. You will have to call everyday if you want connection. And customer support is even worst, first they will not register your case and no mail or proof related to your complaint not even complaint ID. So you better switch to some other net provider. Get the complaint ID of disconnection (imp).
    So finally switched to some local net provider.

Thanks for the great blog and review, I am using local broadband connection in Delhi and was planing for Tikona bcz my local broadband speed is 1 Mbps on 900 Rs and I saw the ad of Tikona and plan to change the ISP but first I decided let me check the review and Now I plan to upgrade my local broadband connection to desirable speed instead of Tikona..

    Tikona = Isko laga dala toh connection kat dala.

  37. Tikona Broadband is THE CHOR BROADBAND. Tikona Broadband is worst broadband in India (Delhi). Just within 2 days of getting connection it has stopped working. 100s of calls to Customer care with no solution every time they say engineer will visit you and problem will be solved within 24 hrs but no body comes, Tikona customer care is sitting there to tell lies to the customers. They show demo service only to take advance payment after receiving payment the service goes down for days without any customer care or technical support from the service provider. Searching the net will only show horrible complaints about this company, they are cheating hundreds of people everyday. My customer ID - 1114117557

  39. Tikona Broadband is THE CHOR BROADBAND. Tikona Broadband is very worst in Pune. In 30 days(one month) bill will come, but in one month 15-20 have connection issue. After calling Tikona help desk they tell in 24hr issue will resolve, but the issues never resolve. Most of the times login page does not open. I have 4Mbps plan, at demo time and the same day, I got the speed, after next day to till I have speed issue, some times the speed is 40k - 50kbps only. They are CHORs and cheating...
