Engineers Day in India - 15th September


Wishing everyone a very Happy Engineers Day which is celebrated on 15th September every year in honour of the birth of a great Indian Engineer and statesman - Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya.



Sir  Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya is popularly known for his automatic flood protection system which got installed near Pune - Khadakvasla reservoir, Gwalior - Tigra Dam and in Mandya Krishnaraja Sagara (KRS) dam.

Sir  Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya was honoured with
Bharat ratna for his beautiful and superb contribution in the field of engineering and welfare of the people of India.


Sir Visvesvaraya was born in the year 1860, to a kannada speaking Brahmin family of Mokshagundam Srinivasa Sastry and Venkatalakshmamma currently known as Muddenahalli village, which is located  40 miles from Bangalore, India.

Sir  Visvesvaraya lost his father at the early age of 15 years. He attended his primary school in  Chikballapur, and attended high school in Bangalore.
